It’s Monday!

Bit of nostalgia!

PART ONE!!!

Do you remember these?

Couldn’t resist a bank holiday Monday moment back in time.

Chemistry lessons were always one of my favourite lessons during the week. Loved the practical side. I recall my chemistry teacher showing us how fire extinguishers worked by taking one apart and combining the chemicals inside to make the foam.

image

I have never been one for chewing gum but I do remember the quirky flavours that appeared at one time.

Love, love, loved the Pink Panther. However, Peter Sellars always made me laugh.

Top Cat, Mary, Mungo and Midge, Captain Pugwash, the Flumps etc……

I seemed to remember having holes on the page when using this.

The pull out poster from the middle and the attached free gift……

When buying the first edition of the Star Wars trilogy did you buy standard or widescreen?

It’s amazing how technology moves on from this to an iPod etc….

I do remember sitting poised with play and record on a Sunday evening listening to the chart show ready to hear if the song I wanted to record would be played.

Here’s the pair I like!

MORR of the Hoff! (I did say there’d be mORR of this in another post!)

MORR than just a PE teacher, we have the Hoff.

As well as Knight Rider we have Sam’s desire (@beetlebug1) to dress up in American Football gear currently residing in the boot of her lift home after the teachmeet.

Unfortunately, poor Knight Rider’s car Kit was locked up for the night having missed the closing time of the car park. John Sayers to the rescue!

image

However, this was seen in the early hours of the morning – a different kind of night rider!!!

image

I have been promised a pair of these from Jon Tait and even the Hoff has been sporting heels!!!

PEDAGOO SUNSHINE PART THREE

Pedagoo evening teachmeet

For those who make the daytime event at Joseph Swan Academy there was the opportunity to meet up in the evening at Blakes Cafe on Grey Street in Newcastle for an evening teachmeet.

There were many of us who were fortunate to attend both daytime and evening.

The evening was highly entertaining with a relaxed atmosphere all round.

The technical set up proved that you can be mORR than a PE teacher! (The Hoff has since become quite a little theme with puns etc… – mORR of that later on! Probably in part four with quirky highlights of the day!)

image

image

We were treated to a variety of min presentations by several Pedagooers.

image

image

Our sponsors for the evening with Lisa Ashes.

image

image

A huge thank you to Lisa and her team for organising a brilliant Pedagoo event both through the day and evening too.!!!

image

image

image

Jon Tait up next with amazing Skype work. Such inspirational work teaching and learning with students across the world using Skype.

image

image

image

image

Although this was a private event and one for which you had to sign up, we were treated to a gate crasher intent on questioning everything. Proved to be quite an amusing highlight and continued talking point of the evening!

image

image

Sam Bainbridge, still wearing her Kenny Pieper heart up next and sharing brilliant ideas with English students.

image

image

Tait Coles shared some fantastic Punk Poetry with us @totallywired77.

Lisa and I hoped he like the Punk Prayers we came across at Thursday’s recent #TMBlakes13 from Richard Connelly.

image

image

image

image

image

An evening won’t be complete without more reading thoughts from Kenny Pieper.

image

Jim Smith shared his love of daddy long legs!

image

image

image

Steve Bunce sharing adventure stories. Do you remember those books where you could choose what happened next by turning to a particular page? This was an electronic version. Brilliant!!!

image

Martin Said delivered a brilliant music session supporting students identifying rhythm, beat, pulse but stripping back the layers of each timbre and tone in a piece of music. Love, love, loved it!!!

The evening Pedagoo band were roped in too. They too were brilliant!

image

image

A day of rain but filled with such brilliant sunshine!

There is a Pedagoo Sunshine song out there somewhere!!!

Brilliant day!

He should get
Capital Pun…ishment!

image

A pun, or
paronomasia, is a form of word play that deliberately exploits an
ambiguity between similar-sounding words for humorous or
rhetorical effect. Such ambiguity may arise from the intentional
misuse of homophonical, homographical, homonymic, polysemic,
metonymic, or metaphorical language.

By definition, puns must be deliberate; an involuntary
substitution of similar words is called a malapropism.

Samuel Johnson disparagingly referred to punning as “the
lowest form of humour”. Punning has been used by writers
such as Alexander Pope, James Joyce, Vladimir Nabokov, William
Shakespeare (who is estimated to have used over 3,000 puns in his
plays), John Donne, and Lewis Carroll.
